For the UCLA Mechanical Engineering Senior Capstone Project, my team is developing an autonomous plant-watering rover that integrates mechanical design, embedded systems, and sensor-driven control. During the first quarter, the team completed the design and prototyping of core subsystems—including a dual-segment robotic arm, omni-wheel drivetrain, and precision water delivery system—using SolidWorks and Arduino-based controls.
Currently in the second quarter, efforts are focused on full system integration, ensuring coordination between drivetrain, arm motion, and real-time sensor feedback for autonomous operation. The project is scheduled for completion at the end of the quarter and emphasizes cross-disciplinary collaboration, iterative testing, and practical problem-solving to deliver a functional robotic solution. The first quarter report is attached above.
